Exploration

Following the completion of a Pre-Feasibility Study at Leonora in March 2009 and the onset of trial mining in early 2010, Navigator has re-focussed its exploration efforts at Leonora to increase the resource base at the Project and increase the forecast mine life.  Further resources could be defined by extension drilling of known resources, infill and extension drilling in areas of known mineralisation and following up conceptual exploration targets.

The known resources at the higher grade Mertondale 5 deposit have a flat southerly plunge and it is possible that further drilling to test this southern down plunge zone could extend the known resources.  Any further resources defined here could potentially be mined by deepening of the existing open pit.

Follow up drilling is required at the Hobby prospect which is located on the Kurrajong Trend. Hobby has previously produced best intersections of 12m @ 10.7g/t Au from 6m and 3m @ 5.97g/t Au from 31m.  Other areas requiring soil sampling or aircore drilling are the Kurrajong North and Perseverance prospects where nearby mineralisation is known.

Earlier stage conceptual targets exist along the Kurrajong Trend and at Mertondale South, following known sparsely explored mineralised trends.  A further review of available data is required to better understand the primary sources of the 140,000oz of supergene gold at Cardinia.
